Birth Certificate
Did you know that only father can apply for a birth certificate of children under 18?
Did you know that in order to apply for your children’s birth certificate their parents Iranian marriage must be registered?
Did you know that if your child is over 15 yo his/her birth certificate does not have a picture then you must reapply for a new birth certificate?
Did you know that anyone over the age of 18 whose father has passed away and wants to obtain a birth certificate, they must first obtain a proof of relationship from Iranian courts (hokm esbate nasab)?

Kart Melli (National ID card)
Did you know that since June of 2019 new Kart Melli is not issued to Iranians abroad?
Did you know that if you do not have Kart Melli or it is expired then for all financial, judiciary or institutional matters you can give a power of attorney to someone to act in your behalf?
Did you know that in order to apply for Kart Melli you must apply in person in Iran and it will only be handed to you?

Death Registration
Did you know that if someone passes away abroad a death certificate must be obtained from Iranian consulate?
Did you know to obtain an Iranian death certificate you must have a death certificate from your local government and must have the deceased Iranian birth certificate?
Did you know Power of attorney automatically expires when the principal passes away?

Probate
Did you know that you must first obtain a death certificate before applying for “hasr-e verasat” in probate court?
